I am very satisfied with the work environment and my opportunities to give quality customer service in my current role at First Merchants. In person training sessions are meaningful and I have had excellent Managers in my 2 years here.

Fun group, most are eager to help their customers.
What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?
Extremely high level of customer service and the focus on the customer experience. Also that the company is rooted locally here in Muncie and has many ties to the community.
What makes you most happy at work?
To be valued as an employee, to be trusted to do my work well and the opportunity to use the skills that I have obtained throughout my work-life. To be compensated fairly based on current market conditions and work environment.
Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?
Based on my previous banking experience (25 years) and time in Management (10+ years) making $20 an hour is underpaid. I could start a new job today and make close to $20 an hour. I feel that the value I bring to First Merchants and it's customers far exceed that pay scale.
