My overall experience has been pretty good. I started as a teller and wanted something different and more challenging, so I started working at the DDC. I have been with the company for 5 years and have been comfortable enough to want to stay here and continue perusing a career with FMB.
What makes you most happy at work?
The people that I work with make me the happiest. They are the reason that I stay in the position that I am in today. My manager is the reason I stay. They do not get enough credit for the work that they do plus the extra things they deal with, and they always should be acknowledged.
Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?
I feel undervalued as an employee because the amount of work that I put into my job exceeds what is excepted. Right now, at STAR bank you can apply as a teller for $18.00. Starting pay for FMB is $15.00. I am a specialist at the DDC and just started making $18.00 that includes promotion and merit.
What are some of the best things about your team?
Some of the best things about Loan Ops is that no matter what is thrown at us, we get the job done. With an integration and taking on a subservicer, we go to extreme measures to make sure our daily tasks plus special projects are done. We are here early, leave late, and work extra overtime to help.
What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?
The most positive is my manager and my coworkers. My manager ensures that my needs are met when it comes to a career at FMB. She does anything she can to make sure that I am comfortable in the department as an individual and employee. She helps lead me on my career path that I want to achieve.
