I love working for First Merchants and feel very loyal. First Merchants has been very good to me over the last 20 years.
What makes you most happy at work?
My teammates and partners make me happy!

They are all easily accessible and take the time to listen.

Our team is very close and have developed friendships outside of being just coworkers.
What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?
It is a very caring and upbeat environment. We are able to collaborate with each other regularly.

We are a cohesive team that works well together and are all comfortable bouncing ideas off of each other.
What makes you most happy at work?
The interactions between the team and clients. I work with a great team and our clients are the best.
What do you like best about the leadership team?
The leadership team is accessible and willing to listen. They have a vested interest in the employees across the company.
What is the best part about your compensation package?
There is not one single part of my compensation package that stands out. I am happy with the entire package.

The incentive package for sales done annually. It is fair and very competitive. I'm recognized for my sales efforts.
What do you like best about the leadership team?
The FMB leadership is easily accessible. Each leader is willing to meet with clients and make time with employees to answer questions and just get to know them.
What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?
It is a fun, collaborative environment. I enjoy the camaraderie in the office environment which is why I come into the office daily vs. using the remote work flexibility.
What makes you most happy at work?
Again, the camaraderie in the office is what brings me in each day. I enjoy the friendships and the collaboration among the different lines of business in the office.
What do your coworkers need to improve and how could you work together better?
I view our region as a team but the overall department as a group. There is a lot of disconnect between the group and varying degrees of experience and knowledge. When offering help, it is often declined.
What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?
FMB is a great place to work. The culture aligns with my beliefs and ideals. In my opinion, it is never about the "work" but more about the people that I work with and the company that I work for that push me to stay. I plan to retire from FMB.
