I feel that the leadership I hired in under was committed to career growth and development in-tandem with promoting my responsibility to the bank and my current leadership is only focused on the latter. We are starting to see movement after airing our concerns but it's taken more time that I'd like.
What makes you most happy at work?
I enjoy the work that I do and how it challenges me. I also enjoy collaborating with my immediate team members.
What do you like best about the leadership team?
I recognize their efforts to remediate the concerns we've raised over the past several months. I want to remain a member of the team at First Merchants but want to be recognized for my worth and what I bring to the organization.
What are some of the best things about your team?
We recognize each other's contributions and have strengths in areas that differ from one another's to complement our output and enjoy working as a team. Additionally, we enjoy spending time together and often make efforts to spend time together outside of work.
Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?
I feel like the benefits offered in other sectors of technology are significantly better than ours. We have a high deductible health plan that we have to complete homework assignments for and based on research our own HR department completed, we are severely underpaid for our role.
What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?
The most positive thing about the culture and environment at my company is my immediate team members. Previously we harbored a mindset that was more growth-oriented but as we have thinned in numbers, have been less able to find time to dedicate to learning. I would like to see this theme return.
