Briefly describe your overall experience at your company
The days are always interesting, with lots of unique challenges day to day. No two are ever the same and things move quickly here. There are opportunities for different types of work and I have enjoyed most of the projects and efforts I have been able to engage in.
What do you like best about the leadership team?
I like that they are approachable and personable. They're willing to have conversations often and honestly.
What is the best part about your compensation package?
My pay is in line with the market value for my position and experience. I appreciate that First Merchants values me in this way.

They're very personable and down to earth. They make me feel like a valued team member rather than simply a FTE or a direct report
What makes you most happy at work?
My team and what the teach me each day. I have fantastic coaching from my manager and partners, and great dialogue on work throughout my day with peers and partners

My team is a fantastic collection of talented individuals. They have a diverse collective background in and out of banking and bring so much value to our team, and to FMB
What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?
Bring your genuine self. I have felt very welcomed and accepted here in my personal as well as my professional opinions, beliefs, and ideas. Despite the strong difficulties in some of the work-based interactions, everyone is nice and accepting
What makes you most happy at work?
Collaborative efforts and getting work done. Hitting major milestones and accomplishing goals give me a strong feeling of satisfaction and pride in my work. This makes me happy because I did my job well, and that's why I'm here.
What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?
Acceptance of the individual, and the ask for authenticity. This was something that was said at previous employers, but wasn't actually lived day-to-day. Here at FMB it is displayed and talked about and lived. I love the culture here at FMB.
What are some of the best things about your team?
Background and skill sets. My team is the best in the company. I know everyone says this, but I see the strength and diversity in my peers and am genuinely excited when I have the opportunities to learn new things from what they all bring to our interactions. I look forward to the collaboration
Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?
In my role, many times it feels like fighting a uphill battle to earn work and projects and having to work through difficulties outside of the challenges that are involved with my work. This has led to a lot of stress, frustration, and depression around my role and my work that I'd like to avoid
