I wouldn't recommend working at this company UNLESS serious changes are made. I like the renewed focus by our CFO on being a sound company, but I think the lack of operational prowess by our teams is a risk that will prevent us from being the best we can be.
What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?
There is a lot of hope and optimism; not warranted, but I appreciate it.
What's going wrong and how can it be improved?
We have a lot of roles that are not filled and we need diversity in our leadership. We keep looking to folks with consultant backgrounds and I don't think that is the best.
What do you like best about the leadership team?
I like all the middle management because they are smart, capable, extremely driven, and diverse. Our executive team is homogenous in its diversity (mostly male) and have a consultant mentality when it comes to driving our company's growth. They unfortunately have very high risk tolerance.
What do your coworkers need to improve and how could you work together better?
Many of my coworkers are self-interested and not towards the common goal of growing and improving our company. The turn over rate is very high and I believe it is because many rarely actually want to move far together. Compensation and promotions based on different factors may help.
Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?
Men on our team are looked upon highly and promoted with ease. Due to the very nature of our team's service roll and high number of women, I don't think we are compensated fairly nor promoted with the same level of confidence. Old boys' club mentality pervades promotions and compensation.
