Overall, I feel that Nextdoor is extremely performative and focuses more on what it looks like we're doing rather than what we're actually doing. The reporting out internally is significantly stunting growth across all fronts.
the leadership team is very transparent with the rest of the company
Meeting the industry standard - Nextdoor historically underpays compared to other companies
Everyone is passionate about our purpose and strives to live out our Core Values
The best part about my compensation package are the stipends for fitness and personal development
My team is very fun and we all really care about each other's well being
Listening to the subject matter experts and not overriding everyone below them just on the basis that they're a Lead
The most positive thing about the culture is that we all really want to be in person with each other again. Nextdoor has a great company energy and spirit
Seeing our product come to life makes me most happy at work. I love to see all the positive stories of users when they use Nextdoor and how it changes their lives.
'Kind conversations' internally at the company at not a reality. There is a lot of going over other's heads and talking behind peoples backs which is in no way constructive and hurts the performance of the company.
There is a large culture problem at Nextdoor and the Head of People and our CEO contribute to that. They constantly force how they want something done instead of listening to their subject matter experts. The Head of People constantly throws his hands up on bigger issues and does nothing.
