I very much enjoy working for Staples and growing the business. However, I am thinking of leaving due to the viciousness of and general lack of respect from the general managers.
What did you like most about the interview process?
Everybody I interviewed with was positive and driven.
What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?
The company's vision and the direction corporate leadership wants to go in.
What makes you most happy at work?
Investing in the future of my associates through development. Making customer's work/life easier. Growing the business.
What are some of the best things about your team?
The associates are absolutely amazing. They have so much intellectual wealth to contribute and are the best part of my day.
Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?
I work very hard so that somebody else who contributes relatively little can make at least twice my salary. Worse, they invest nothing in my own development.
What do you like best about the leadership team?
It seems there is a disconnect between the corporate vision and what General Manager's are willing to do to survive when metrics are slipping. It's so stressful that sometimes you wonder if it's even worth it to continue to allow somebody to exploit your talents for their own personal advancement.
