The environment is very supportive of mothers which makes a huge difference for my and my family.
I believe the steadiness and reliability of communication. Motherly is a startup so the priorities can shift often, but they are always aligned to our yearly goals and are reexamined quarterly as a business.
Mid-level team members have each other's backs and there was a fair amount of creativity when we had time.
There is ZERO culture at Motherly. Culture is huge. Without it, your employees have no sense of belonging to the company and nothing to help motivate them/feel connected to their colleagues. Getting a culture in place should be a priority.
The competency & dedication of the team was really impressive - so much hard work went in during a really tough pandemic year.
The mission to support mothers is the most positive rallying cry people believe in
The culture is set up to help working mamas thrive. Remote work provides the flexibility my family needs to thrive on a daily basis.

My peers and the sense of humor they have through sometimes challenging situations.

The fact that our work/life balance is promoted and celebrated. Working from home allows the flexibility and autonomy that most companies lack
Our collective can-do attitude, regardless of our resources, propgated from our founders and internalized by all.
From the top down, everyone cares. It is the people first
It's extremely collaborative and everyone's voice feels important.
We are so celebratory of both the successes and what we learned from our failures.
The company culture is overall positive and very celebratory. It's also very family-friendly, inclusive and open-minded.
I feel like this is a place where women are lifting other women up. We're lifting up each other and we're lifting up consumers. I truly have no previous work experience I can compare it to.
Top down leadership needs serious improvement. Treat people with respect. Lose the condescension and recognize the employees & relationships with partners will make or break the success of the company. Without them you have nothing.
KPIs need to be aligned with the resources available. If resources change, the KPIs need to adjust to reflect that in a realistic way, not an optimistic way. The prioritization needs to be crystal clear and the whiplash of moving from one project to another needs to be slowed down.

Over the last several months we have seen some drastic changes on the teams and seeing people reap the benefits of behavior that isn't really Motherly. The exec team is aware and does nothing
