Mr. William H. Carter, also known as Bill, has been Senior Vice President of Commercial and Operations Support at Advance Auto Parts Inc. since June 19, 2017. Mr. Carter served as Senior Vice President of Independent Business at Advance Auto Parts Inc. since February 2017 until June 19, 2017 and served as its Senior Vice President of Business Development and Integration from December 2013 to April 2016. Mr. Carter served as Senior Vice President of DIY and Commercial Operations Support at Advance Auto Parts Inc. since April 2011. Mr. Carter joined Advance Auto Parts Inc. in April 2011. Mr. Carter is responsible for the continued development and implementation of Advance Auto Parts' Commercial strategy and program. Prior to Advance, Mr. Carter was a Partner at Bain & Company in the Atlanta office where he worked for over 11 years. As a Member of the Global Industrial Goods and Retail practices at Bain, he led growth strategy, operations improvement and organizational projects. Prior to Bain, he served in the US Navy. Mr. Carter earned Master of Business Administration from the Darden Graduate School of Business at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, VA and Bachelor of Arts degree from Duke University in Durham, North Carolina.
