Does Advance Auto Parts drug test or do a background check?

When I was hired in 2015 I took a mandatory drug test and a background check. Currently, these are not required.
When I was hired in April 2015, there was both a drug and background test - now there is not any testing.
When initially hired in 2014, a drug test was required - now it is not. A background test (driving history) is required for delivery drivers.
What skills do you need to be successful in the Sales department at Advance Auto Parts?
skills to sit back and be yelled at on the store floor by your manager and not do nothing.
The ability to convince people to buy stuff they really don't need. The ability to avoid completing any of the floor processes and stay camped out at the best placed register.

Most employees quit, primarily for better paying jobs or would rather be unemployed than suffer abuse for entry level pay.
Never heard of one at any of my sales district stores - employee turn over keeps the stores chronically understaffed.
This situation has never occurred - we are chronically understaffed.

Going home at the end of my shift.
Meeting local residents - making friendships with commercial accounts.

For full timers - good.
Decent - despite the low hourly wage.
None that I am aware of. Those who have vacation time just put in for it randomly.

Wanted something to do outside of my home after retiring and extra 'mad' money. Needed to go full time to provide medical benefits for my wife. These needs both no longer exist. Staying on because I need dental work
Spent my entire career in the auto service field - it is my comfort zone. Like to interact with people and get a sense that I am helping someone.
Needed supplemental income, then needed affordable medical coverage for my wife. This situation now no longer exists - I no longer need this employment.

Uneven - determined by floor traffic and incoming phone calls - heavily dependent on the weather. Currently, with the store so understaffed, it is stressful.
Customer driven - depends on floor traffic - seriously hectic - then dead.

Pretty much non-existent - its mostly sink or swim.
It's mostly peer training. If one is assigned to a concerned peer - it can be very good. I try, when I am assisting a new hire, to highlight pitfalls.

Medical, sick and vacation leave, life insurance (for full time employees), dental, and vision (all employees).
Dental and Vision are a bargain - medical not too shabby either. For full time we get sick, holiday, and vacation pay. Life insurance and disability are also provided.
As a full time employee, I get sick days, vacation days, holiday pay (though not necessarily the day itself off), and medical benefits.

Unable to tell - my pay has not changed significantly in nearly 4 years. Management's main concern appears to be avoiding working after 4 PM on weekdays, after noon on Saturdays and never on Sundays and Holidays.
By willingness to work undesirable hours, i.e., Friday 4 PM to Sunday close and holidays. By meeting daily sales goals.
Have no idea - have never received any feed back other than an occasional 'atta boy' - no change in my pay check.

Do not know that one exists. Cannot log on the company website from home - only the GM has that access.
There is no work at home policy. I would like to be able to take the online training courses at home - even on my own time.
There is none that I am aware of.

Doesn't matter - all of the stores are desperate for bodies to fill slots because of the low pay

Only two positions are available - manager and assistant manager and are usually filled from outside.
Not hard, there is a swiftly revolving door of come and go coworkers - although there are very few positions to get promoted into.
Promoting up inside the store isn't too bad. However GM will be the highest most will be able to achieve. DM and above are mostly brought in from outside the company. Call any store and talk to the GM and ask if their DM promoted up within AAP.
