American Express Compensation Employee Reviews

What is the best part about your compensation package?

The best part of the compensation package is the combination of strong pay, excellent benefits, and generous paid time off. It feels competitive, supportive, and aligned with both professional and personal well-being.

There are still bonuses available.

It come with excellent allowance.

Review from Customer Support Dept

Salary is great at the moment

Pay is decent but slightly lower compared to rest of industry.

The bonuses are the best oart

The pay is great here as well as the benefits .

Family benefits are amazing at Amex

The insurance coverage is good and bonuses are nice

Review from Customer Support Dept

Time off, parental leave, and family always comes first mentality

good salary and other flexible benefits

Benefits, 401k, bonus is pretty decent

Benefits good overall package .

Feel that we are supported in all ways

it is competitive and rewarding.

Other benefits which the company is providing

Overall package. Stocks. Variable bonus

great place to be at

Good amount of pto hours from day 1

You'll never get a decent raise but the bonuses are good.

Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?

I feel overworked and underapperiated

The existing role is not matching with the experience and potential and internal growth is quiet subjective to interview instead ofskill based its interview based which bring iin bias and only sees logical reasoning

The pay is low therefore they need to increase the wages

Review from Business Development Dept

More base salary at least

When the company has a great year I'd expect to be compensated accordingly

Review from Finance Dept

Compared to peer sets and beyond base pay is far below those competitive benchmarks. While work life balance is fantastic they're falling too far behind in compensarion

Actually getting paid what we deserve for taking non stop calls

I do not feel undervalued. I am fairly paid based on the value I produced for the company. However, I believe working at American Express is a waste of talent.

Review from Engineering Dept

Setting a fair target based on market potential will help earn better incentive

Don't understand the colleagues needs

Review from Engineering Dept

The hours are good. But you will just get 3% raise every year and after a while, your salary will be below market. They don't pay competitively.

I am very well aware of systematic discrimination in compensation despite the wide claims of pay equity

compensation is 20% lower then current mkt.

I was actually working on an assignment for Amex. If had a permanent job. I would pleased to work there again.

I have chnaged roles and been able to make a significant jump for similar level of role

Individuals in similar roles at other companies are paid far better.

Ask for top dollar when you come in. You can expect 1%-3% increases in your position as a solid to rockstar player.

More stock options would encourage longer term employee commitment and would dovetail nicely with strategic objectives.

Review from Legal Dept

Base salary is embarrassing, with promises of potentially good bonuses that are desperately unfairly judged.

Review from Customer Support Dept

Poor pay compared to similar companies
