I feel that there are some good examples, however overall the management are too entrenched and need to understand that point and work to combat these feelings of "I've been here so long I know everything"

There was a two stage interview, so that allows two separate views of the potential employee.
Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?
Every comparable business in our market area pays on average 25% more to a similarly situated employee. Yet time and time again our General Manager says that no wage increase will happen.
What needs to change to make the company culture better?
Communication Further an ability of the upper management to understand that when you undervalue and undermine your employees and then set other groups of employees against them, they will not stay. If everyone that can do the job leaves, then nobody can do the job.
