Like most places, they are decent people for the most part. Some care more about waiving the corporate flag than investing in their people. Way too many Senior Associates and Principals, VPs on overhead, makes wages less competitive.

There are enough opportunities across their Government customer base that unlike other firms in this industry, you don’t get laid off just because you’re contract ended. They are very good at retaining staff.

Leadership seems to care more about CYA then the overall health of the company and it's employees. Then there's the whole "spying on American citizens" thing. Overall a poor company that exists only to vacuum up every and all govt contracts. One that never gets punished for unethical behavior.

What is the best part about your compensation package?
Solid base salary, no bonuses or stock given to regular (non exec) employees.

Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?
I would feel better if Booz Allen paid at least 5 percent above average or average compensation. My compensation as a data scientist is below average

The health care plan is mediocre (we've moved to my wife's employer's benefits). Generic 401k contributions. Under market for Cyber Security professionals. Ditch bidding on Low Price Technically Acceptable contracts. Move Senior Associates to billable positions and increase wages for loyal employees

I've seen several employees go get offers elsewhere and bring them back to management. Management always says they'll match the offer to get you to stay. If that's the case, then why do you not value and respect me enough to have already been paying me that salary level in the first place?

This company frowns upon those with children that need their parent's attention on occasion. Those with poor work ethic are rewarded with lead positions who in turn, hate the position because of "pressure to perform".

I can't speak too much to the company culture as I work on a subcontract primarily. Most of my company interface amounts to compliance training and annual assessments with an occasional mandatory (yet un-billable) all hands sprinkled in.

What needs to change to make the company culture better?
Several types of work environments exist within the company, but the employees are always mismatched with the environment that would give them the chance to be the most successful. The firm has also recently been cramming 4 or more employees into 1 tiny office. We don't want to be sardines.

My interview was very easy. I knew the subject better than the interviewer.

It was similar to a panel interview with multiple staff at differing levels of experience, but it was all one-on-one and then hand offs to the next person. I had junior level employees all the way to Chief Engineers interview me and the level of experience was random rather than progressive.
