Depends on the store manager. Very positive in my store. Lots of really great things to look forward to with the Co CEO.

How much product moves and how creative the stores have to be for seasonal return home product.

Depends on the position and candidate. 30-90 minutes.

General Manager. Within a week.
How flexible is your work schedule at World Market?
Fairly flexible. Requires extremely open availability. Not really a set schedule. Great work/life balance.
In your opinion, what are the most common interview questions that World Market asks?
The usual dealing with service, leading a team to success, overcoming challenging assignments.
What kind of interview questions do they ask when hiring someone in the Operations department at World Market?
There is no “Operations” department. It’s store operations, supply chain/logistics, corporate office.
What Operations department questions did World Market ask during your job interview?
Mostly how to handle conflict and manage performance of subordinates. Sales analysis of certain metrics.
How helpful was your Operations team when you were first hired at World Market?
I learned most of everything myself. In the last 5 years we have improved on boarding process and in the process of improving ongoing training operationally for all roles within the company.
What's the work from home policy like at World Market?
Unless you’re a GM and higher, there’s no work from home.
What's the internship program like at World Market?
Not sure. It’s more of a corporate office thing and the new Co-CEO wants to be better at internal promotes to internship.
How does World Market handle HR issues?
It’s extremely hard to terminate someone due to the focus on development. They want each employee the opportunity to improve into the role as opposed to going out on the street and finding someone else. It’s a very professional work environment.
