Crate and Barrel Compensation Employee Reviews

What is the best part about your compensation package?

no the pay, that's for sure

Health insurance, employee discount is good

Benefits didn't have last job

Insurance is a good benefit

Pay is decent for the role, 401k match

The employee discount of 30%.

I always say I work for the associate discount and not the pay

The benefits are great, they provide good healthcare and match at a nice percentage towards the 400k program.

The benefits are comparable with other employers.

It's fair but could be better

401(k) and health and dental

Vacations and employer works with you

My rate of pay followed by my 401

Review from Operations Dept

Great staff discount, up to 40%.

Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?

As part time employees, we do not accrue vacation time nor offered any benefits. Wages, by CA standards, are not liveable. The expectations on staff FAR outweigh the compensation on all levels. They even have us mopping floors!

At the store level the hourly employees hold it together and work extremely hard

Het a better GM and train msnagement better

Earning more would prevent me from looking elsewhere.

The pay is too low.

Review from Customer Support Dept

Easy. A living wage and a reasonable path to growth and development.

Management does not value their staff. The previous store manager was always present and would be very team oriented and would show appreciation by supplying food, snack, fun incentives. Current store manager doesn't even show up to work, she's always calling out.

They make everyone here feel like trash. Almost everyone is looking for another job. The pay here with years of experience is over 2$ less than a fast food worker. Crate and barrel as a company does not care about its employees or customers.

Review from Operations Dept

If you make your sales targets you should get a cut of the bonus not just the managers. Also everyone on the sales floor should work on some kind of commission or pay rate should be higher.

Compensation is not fair for the frustration.

Return to a family oriented team -- closed on holidays (including Christmas and New Years eve). Retail is bottom of the barrel and CB isn't providing any incentives that will draw people in to work for their store.

I feel that the company undervalues the position of my coworkers and I.

not fully employed, its noted that C&B prefers hiring p/t so they don't have to pay full benefits

All salaries need to be adjusted particularly in states where the cost of living is high, one can’t commit to a job that pays 15,/hr in Californ

you're expected to perform like a full time person but you don't get the full time benefits

The end of commission cut my pay in half and there were pay and hiring freezes keeping pay at a tragic level while my time card was often altered to minimize the hours I actually worked.

Review from Sales Dept

Yes, they offer sick and bereavement time. But if you use it you take a hit in your dependability score. This score determines whether you get raises and promotions. They need to trust their employees. The micromanaging must stop.

Review from Customer Support Dept

Salary way below and benefits

Sales managers are left on the sales floor all day ... with little support from co-managers ... communication is poor and non-constructive between managers ...
