I appreciate skills I have learned. I do think the corporate end needs to make major changes. Tighten up policies to ensure employees are actually following rules, more flexible about calling out sick. many customers walk into the store, so encouraging employees to come in sick is unexceptable.
Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?
Employees are expected to work full time hours when no full time positions are available; basically, for no benefits.
What does the leadership team need to get better at?
actually caring for employees. especially given the Corona situation, the fact that employees are strongly encouraged to come in while they're sick and contagious is terrible.
What do your coworkers need to improve and how could you work together better?
We get a lot of people who are generally rude, and untrained at customer service. Managers also refuse to exercise their authority, leading to some employees getting away with unethical and unprofessional behavior.
What's going wrong and how can it be improved?
Most imporant: better training is needed. We get a lot of new employees, and many often quit after a week or two saying they feel undertrained for what they are expected to accomplish.
