High workload and responsibility. Tolerable during slow seasons but stress gets very high during busy seasons

What makes you most happy at work?

Interacting with pets and with appreciative clients that see the value in our work.

What does the leadership team need to get better at?

Assisting in the implementation of new procedures and hearing the voices of the employees that are implementing them.

What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?

Our center's manager is open minded and willing to listen to staff concerns. This allows our procedures to be adjusted if we are struggling in one aspect or another. I feel heard and that my judgement has value.

Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?

I have spent a majority of my time here feeling underpaid until my most recent raise. It has taken almost 4 years to get to that point. The level of responsibility and physical labor required to do the job properly isn't considered in the pay wage.

What do your coworkers need to improve and how could you work together better?

Employee burnout is very common. It feels like a domino effect when one or two coworkers are burnt out. This leads to lower stress tolerance, low morale, and overall high turnover. I always feel that I get burnt out the fastest when other coworkers are burnt out and I need to pick up their slack.
