I love the location I work at but not thrilled with Destination Pet.
Briefly describe your overall experience at your company
My job has gone very downhill since we have been acquired by DP. We are losing a lot of what makes us the best. The managers seem stressed and overworked, and the employees feel undervalued. Customers are saying similar things about the transition.
What do you like best about the leadership team?
Management staff is amazing, supportive, and like family.
What is the best part about your compensation package?
I think I am paid fairly.
What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?
The family like atmosphere between the employees and clients.

We are supportive of each other, like a family, and always help each other and work as a team.
What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?
We know all the clients by name and face and they know all of us. It is a community atmosphere.

We are like a family. We are all passionate about what we do. I do not get that same energy from DP employees.
Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?
When DP took over my business, I was given a significant amount of new responsibilities and stress, with little to no financial compensation for my new duties.
What does the leadership team need to get better at?
There is a serious issue with communication in this company, at the corporate level. It seems that the center managers are the last ones to find things out. There is too many people/departments to jump through before reaching who you want, and it often dilutes the message. Like a game of telephone.
