Driveline Retail Merchandising – In the beginning, I loved my job. Now, its very stressful. I had to pick up other jobs to make ends meet because hours are rarely enough. you work 6-8 good weeks, then it'll be the bare minimum for 12-15. It's not livable money. But it's a good "extra" money job. | Comparably

What does the leadership team need to get better at?

Leadership is either all in and down your throat or not there at all.

What's going wrong and how can it be improved?

We need better training. Store managers need to understand that we have specific jobs and cannot cater to them. We need better instructions. We need more stable hours.

What did you like most about the interview process?

Basically, if you get a call from someone with driveline, you have the job as long as you have a car, insurance, a smartphone, a computer, internet, and a printer.

What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?

The most positive thing is that reps do, very occasionally, have store managers that like their jobs and will appreciate them. Most of the time it's very stressful due to all of the unknowns.

What do your coworkers need to improve and how could you work together better?

Coworkers are not the issue. they work how they are trained. The issue is that they are not trained by someone that knows what they're doing, most of the time. They could be trained by someone that started a month before them. Newbies could be set up with reps that have had complaints against them.

Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?

Pay is about 30 percent lower than other merchandising companies. Drivetime pay is only about half of the hourly pay, although you are driving from store to store for them. No benefits. One week you could have as little as 5 hour and the next you could have 40. You cannot live off this job alone.
