My overall experience with the company is absolutely awful in almost every way possible. From being over worked, underpaid, and undervalued... to being sexually harassed at work by customers and other employees.
What's going wrong and how can it be improved?
Treat your employees with respect.
What do your coworkers need to improve and how could you work together better?
Simply distributing work more evenly/ fairly, and being kinder to one another.
What needs to change to make the company culture better?
Everything needs to change. I have severe stress and anxiety disorder because of my experience working with DSW.
What did you like most about the interview process?
I felt that I would be a good fit for the company based on my personal values and skills that I had at the time.
Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?
I would feel better if I had gotten better treatment, if I was paid fairly, if I was scheduled for shifts more fairly, and if management didn't take advantage of high school children that didn't know the law!
What does the leadership team need to get better at?
I was 17 working after 11pm on school nights, I was the only cashier for 6 hours at a time with extremely long lines, some days I would work from 7 in the morning to 7 in the evening with no breaks, I trained new employees that were paid more, and I never got a raise. I quit after 6 months.
