What does the leadership team need to get better at?
The leadership team needs more diversity. There are literally no people of color at the executive level

I was 17 working after 11pm on school nights, I was the only cashier for 6 hours at a time with extremely long lines, some days I would work from 7 in the morning to 7 in the evening with no breaks, I trained new employees that were paid more, and I never got a raise. I quit after 6 months.

I work and deal with people who are horrible about wearing masks and I get verbally assaulted over it and it's not my fault. It would be better if we got paid more for working in a pandemic

the assistant manager could be a little better at my location. he has incredibly unpredictable moods and treats his staff like he's better than them sometimes. Other than that the culture is fantastic.

Above the store level they do not follow the company values. RDs and DMs work you till you drop and then still say you have not done enough even if you are beating all your KPIs. Someone is always doing better than you and if your not the top your nothing.

What's going wrong and how can it be improved?
There is a lack of diversity within DSW. The culture is not progressive and conducive to the success of African American people.

Extremely limited payroll; constantly cutting payroll while increasing daily tasks. In the end it negatively affects the customer experience

Treat your employees with respect.

Treat employees fairly and legally. Your stores have a policy where associates can't clock in until they have a walkie talkie which is located in a break room, yet timeclock is at the front of the store. This is illegal. Look it up. It's called asking employees to work off the clock.
