  • Some standard questions, others more dept./industry/job specific. Mine was more like a conversation with questions thrown in....it was rather pleasant towards the end. Lasted about an hour 10 min.

  • Varies, mine was extremely fast Mon-Wed morning, slowing down by Wed after lunch. Lots of folk on my team telecommuted on Fridays and/or Thurs so it was more relaxed if I even came in towards the week's end.

  • How much a Sector's direction drastically changes when upper managers quit or are promoted. There are of course changes to be expected, but these changes were drastic and the new guys were allowed to scrap the predecessor's entire direction/culture causing severe culture shock and with a horrible antiquated replacement. I felt changes were as dramatic as the differences in the map of Europe before and after The Great War.

  • Varies depending on team, dept., division, group---as with all companies regardless of size. But my department had a sort of upbeat tempo infused with a calm conservatism. I loved it--our team reflected the ops director.

Asked to the Operations Department at Eaton

  • Excellent for corporate positions, and from what I remember about field tech's salaries from preparing/submitting payroll corrections for them, they were slightly above U.S. averages in those fields. I don't know about general contractors, engineers, installers, inside sales, etc...worked with them but wasn't normally priviledged to access their HRIS files.

Asked to the Operations Department at Eaton

  • They don't ask you to work over or on weekends, but if you want to keep pace with all the reports, presentation creation/editing, travel, meeting catering/events planning, expense reports, field technician's payroll, calendaring, etc., you have to work a bit from home after hours or on weekends. Mgmt traveling need assistance while abroad, you know what I mean. But the pay is excellent, and again, they are nice men so you will want to go the extra mile and should, becsuse of the pay and your high responsibilities in a job that when you accepted the offer, it was well explained to you. Anytime you support high level mgmt, working "off the clock" (though I was actually Exempt) comes witg those type of positions. They admire and reward hard workers, but will cut ties with lazy bones in a NY minute!!!

Asked to the Operations Department at Eaton

  • Professional (most of them I worked with were), well dressed, smart, and very appreciative of executive level support staff. They were always letting us telecommute and treating us to lunch, etc. But they demand quality work and quantity though again, they let us know we were a blessing to the org. It felt good to be appreciated for often working after hours off the clock.

  • Just be very professional and articulate; dress like you actually give a damn about the opportunity to work at a good company. Girls, dont wear heels over 3.5" and no platforms--natural make-up, conservative nail colour and length or French tips--no extremely long hair or eyelash extensions or odd hair colours--if wearing hair extensions, wear it to look natural and not fake.
