I am not given the opportunity to do the job I believed I was taking to relocate here. I have not been given opportunities to advance my career. And have witnessed people that appear to be "part of the club" advance without evidence of successful performance. One word - demoralizing.
What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?
Individual contributors seem to understand the struggle to keep up with the company's demands with little animosity between the different departments' responsibilities.
What are some of the best things about your team?
We understand the efforts needed to get the job done. Most of the team works hard to achieve those goals and to support one another when needed.
What is the best part about your compensation package?
Generally speaking, benefits are satisfactory in terms of PTO and healthcare; comparable to previous employment. 2 consecutive years, however, of subpar merit increase and bonus (after receiving "good" review) is demoralizing.
What does the leadership team need to get better at?
Be open and honest with employee advancement and development opportunities. Be aware of the actual work being done by "individual contributors" to keep the business moving; and show appreciation for such.
What's going wrong and how can it be improved?
More honesty from the leadership team. Merit increases at least in line with inflation (quarterly updates are full of good news in regards to financials and then 2 consecutive years of <2% merit increase with raise delayed first half of 2021). Shows commitment to shareholders rather than employees
