I think that Evonik and specifically the Tippecanoe Site can be a great place to work. Most of my interactions point to people putting in extra time and pushing themselves as hard as possible with no relief in sight for help. If anything it feels that the load only increases.
What is the best part about your compensation package?
I find that the flexed site holidays are the best. The other benefits are reasonable and appropriate.
What do your coworkers need to improve and how could you work together better?
It is always someone else's job or responsibility. It is always about making their lives easier even at the expense of make someone else's job harder.
What do you like best about the leadership team?
I find that my immediate manager and my peers that report to the same manager are striving for an overall improvement for our site and company. Collaboration, Team work, and Reasonable expectations are a norm. My experience with others around our site and up the leadership ladder are not aligned.
What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?
The focus on Safety and protecting people. I get fantastic support from my manager on this aspect. While I see other managers talk about safety being a priority, they consistently do not "see" the blatant issues that are in front of them. This has gotten worse with COVID-19 Restricitions.
What's going wrong and how can it be improved?
Each day is about doing more with less and trying to save money and be cost efficient. However, as you talk about assets doing it right once is better financially than half way every 9 months. People seemed so focused on looking good in the moment they miss how they hurt the company over time.
