Until recently (last 3 years) I would have recommended friends and anyone else to work here. Now things have changed, I think the company values the bottom line more than their employees or safety. I am trying to do what I can to change things to make it better. Hopefully it will work.
Briefly describe your overall experience at your company
There is a sense of family on site. I wish the company followed our core values better. Performance - giving 1 of 3 possible ratings is not helpful. Speed - it takes way to long to get things done. Prod. EE's are not HR, IT, Procurement, or accounts payable EE's and should focus on prod.
What do you like best about the leadership team?
That they are approachable and easy to communicate with.

The willingness to help each other accomplish any task

Interactions and working with coworkers to achieve a common goal.

I believe my co-workers consider the safety (their, mine and everyone else) in the work we do everyday.
What makes you most happy at work?
The interactions with my coworkers. Our ability to work as a team to accomplish the tasks set by our management.
Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?
If we had enough staff to accomplish all the site tasks so that we did not have to work 10-12 hrs a day to keep the plant operating.
What are some of the best things about your team?
I see the coworkers at my site as an extension of my family. While I may not have a close relationship with all of them I still feel they are part of my extended family and care about them.
Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?
The work that I do is far more than what is listed in my job description. I realize it has to get done to keep the plant running and that there is no one else to do it. I however should be compensated for the increased responsibilities.
What does the leadership team need to get better at?
The leadership team (not site leadership) needs to appreciate their employees contributions more. It is sad that all the site EE's work during covid were not recognized and rewarded. They said how good the company did (financially) at the cost of employee raises. Way to show you value your ee's.
What are some of the best things about your team?
It is a family. The majority of the employees on site are invested in the success of the site and of their coworkers. They want to work as a team, but now are being forced to work divided into unique groups that can't step out of their jobs. We used to help anyone and everyone no matter your job
