Was once a great place to work. Poor management and a lack of training and personnel has created a sour environment. The workplace is safe and the product is of high quality because of the employees.
What does the leadership team need to get better at?
Listening to the employees. Managers come and they go. The workers perform the day to day tasks and make them look good.
What needs to change to make the company culture better?
Less micromanaging from people that don't know the process. Less confrontational managers. Focus on happier employees with some sort of morale booster.
What are some of the best things about your team?
We are in this together. We look after each others safety and treat each other respectfully. We respond as a group to keep the business running.
Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?
Thank you is an empty term here. Morale is the lowest it has ever been and overtime is rampant. Training is not priority. Post retirement benefits are nonexistent, and the pension is below par with competition.
What's going wrong and how can it be improved?
Most of our procedures are created by Human Resource people that have probably never worked shift work. Home every night, regular sleep habits, and regular eating habits. Morale is poor. Benefits and post retirement benefits are not that great.
