Overworked and micromanaged. Don't even consider applying for overtime and be ready to answer to 3 or 4 people who are paid to watch you work and explain to you why you are not organized and efficient. Also be prepared for mgt criticism when you fail to persuade customers to like company guidelines
What are some of the best things about your team?
Our auto damage adjusters don't have a lot of experience but they work very hard and try to learn about the collision repair industry. Unfortunately they received a lot of false information about what it costs to repair an automobile when they were trained by Geico.
Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?
Provide me with the authority and autonomy to write a fair collision repair estimate. Stop giving me busy work and status reports to do when i am supposed to be meeting with our customers. Stop trying to cheat our customers and collision shops with shoddy parts and blame me for their dissatisfaction
What's going wrong and how can it be improved?
Management is afraid to speak up because they know that they will loose their jobs. All they can do are send new rules and guidelines down the ladder and blame their front line workers when the customer complains. The auto estimate guidelines we are forced to abide by are an absolute joke.
What would you improve about your company's interview process?
The company interview process is ridiculous and wastes too much time. The company is simply trying to determine how much abuse you will accept in order to receive the job offer. They know that if you put up with a lot of abuse you may actually stay with the company a year or two before you quit.
