How much diversity is there among employees at Globant?
a lot! more than 6 thousand employees from 12 different countries. You get to build relationships and interact with different cultures every day. Not just western cultures, but also eastern and western cultures merge in every project.
?Today cultural diversity is key in Globant, having people of different races, religions and genders in every seniority, including both Top Management and Board of Directors. In terms of gender diversity, we are implementing very powerful programs to promote and empower women in various parts of the world.? ?In Argentina?, for example,? we support chicasprogramadoras.club where we mentor high school girls and accompany them in the learning process as well as to show them the potential that computing has?.??
We are a team from different locations (Latin America, US, UK, Spain and India), so we have a wide variety of genders and religions.
How's the leadership on the IT team at Globant?
The IT leadership is doing a great job. I have always got the required support from IT team

It is great, I like the way Globant has organize the enterprise an the way you interact with people even from other part from your own group and the way people lead here is very respectful
If you could make changes, how would you improve the culture at Globant?
I will have to ask for some more meaningful work for india as we have so much capability here. Also the senior management should respect the cultural diversity.
Less bureaucracy between Argentina and other offices worldwide. More autonomy for each country with processes.
I would give event more visibility to the results that we have from different teams. There are so many good things going on and so many efforts from so many people. I would love for everyone to be able to see and learn even more from the globers.
How do you feel about Globant's future?
It is going to be amazing for sure.
It's gonna be rocking.
Well for them seems they have a great future, but Bureaucracy could be a problem as other big companies.
How often do employees get raises at Globant?
once in a year
every year
Not that often, is also complicated to be promoted for a raise there many different skills soft and technical to fill, so in this Globant is not very good at it.
How common is it to switch departments or teams at Globant?
depends on the project. I have been in the same team for last 3+ years
It's quite common. You can be assigned to several projects along the year. Of course it depends on the projects you are assigned. I've been in the same project for 18 months but some of my colleages have been in 5 proyects during the same period. You can also change your "studio" let's say from backend developer to test automation engineer or data-science, but it requires you to prove your knowledge and approval by yor mentor
Well if you are talking about becoming from QA to Dev as an example, is pretty complicated you need to have the knowledge of the position you are willing to fill and also your salary should be less or equal if is greater than the position you want to fill well is kind of complicated so you need to fill the same knowledge of the position you want and the salary should be less or equal no greater.
How helpful was your Engineering team when you were first hired at Globant?
Very helpful, they are really nice
my team was very helpful in my ramp up in the project.
The thing is, when you enter you get into "talent pool", and you're interviewed by project managers and technical leaders to see if you are fit for a project. Once on the project, I've always was helped to get on track by part of the development teams.
What are company outings like at Globant?
to restaurants and museums
I don't have the knowledge of the outings at Globant. But like any other glober I haven't heard too many good comments about it.

What skills do you need to be successful in the Engineering department at Globant?
Good communication skills, of course, good technical skills and fast learning capacity.
english, development laguages, overall tech skills, trying hard to do the best code your hability allows...

What programming languages does Globant use?
I think they use them all. I personally I'm a javascripter/c# developer. I also know php and a little of python. But there are a lot of people that write java, c++, c... There are even those who do things in cobol and lisp. That's why I think Globant has them all.

How often do promotions happen at Globant?
Well, every year I've had a rise... And about 6 months ago I was named the TL of my team. But other than that, I don't know. It's not very public.
We don't have regular promotions and people with good network across the company often get promoted rather than people with usual talent. This should stop.

What questions do they ask during the interview process at Globant?
my time working with my technology, my previous experience, how did I Kwon Globant and other technical questions.
programming language questions. explaining what a code snippet does and why. they put up a challenge (create a program to do this) and give you some time to code it. etc.
Not many, you can tell your experience and if you show passion in your work it is enough.
What's the office vibe like at Globant?
it is great. I can't wait to be back at office

it's very satisfying. I can't wait to go back to office once the pandemic is over

to the restaurants and museums
I hadn't had the experience to go out with the team since it's located in other sites around the world.
Very informal. Lots of food. Usually someone is playing music and making a barbecue. There will be dancing, and looooots of talking with friends.
How can I improve my chances of being hired at Globant?
prepare well and learn all the required skills
Showing your self as a professional that can learn new things.
If you show passion at what you do, have lateral thinking, and admit your mistakes and learn from them, chances are you are going to be welcome at the team.
What's the office layout like at Globant?
Open and colorful. We have an open desk policy, lots of common areas. Play areas and conversation rooms.

What are the differences between maternity and paternity leave at Globant?
Maternity and Paternity leave schemes are good. I am not aware of the difference much
I guess is something that depends on the country you are working for them for Mexico are more days off for maternity than for paternity.
