  • Well, as time passes, you are given some more responsibility. I was a TL on my last project. I might have not performed that well (my whole team was new to the programming language the client wanted us to develop in); We delivered a couple of weeks late... I'm looking forward, anyway, for a new chance to become a TL. Also, depending on your peers/superiors evaluation, you can be recommended to upgrade your seniority. You begin as a junior, then semi-senior, then senior, then software designer (my current position), then architect, and I think there is still a level above architect...

  • I don't know. We have a good medical and dental plan in Mexico, but I have never asked if it covered my sight. I've allways bought my glasses myself. Good point though, I will ask about it.

  • very poor. If you are stuck in internal project then lot of things are going to happen. you will be badly affected due to workload and will never be able to grow in your role. be careful and choose a proper client project

  • Don't know, I have a german shepperd, I wouldn't think of taking her with me to the office. But that's mainly cultural. I mean, in Mexico we are not as pet spoilers as in other countries.

  • A friend got layed off about a year ago, he was called to the tech director's office, he was told he didn't fulfill the expectations, he was given his layoff pay check, it was a fair check so he didn't complain, and he was accompanied to his desk to pick his stuff, and then to the door...

  • Yes, most of the positions are remote. You can work in a multicultural team, wich means you'll been working with different people located in different contries. Also, you can work in your home several days of the week if you need it.

  • I think is very good, we have a platform where all leads give us feedback and also there are constantly bidirectional communication to share good and bad things that we could been doing in our daily work

  • It's a living organisms. We have 1:1 recognition from all the company inmerse in our culture. We can recognize every glober at any interaction through our StarMeUp app, we can give each other feedback through our MyFeedback system, and we have more formal and systematic evaluation processes every 6 months.

  • We are a team of almost 300 designers, distributed all over the world (Argentina, San Francisco, New York, UK, Spain, Brasil, Peru, Colombia, Uruguay, India, Chile, etc.) who are very aware that in order to be better at what we do, we need to build and maintain an active community of profesional designers who are empathetic and curious.

  • We are a big team, belong mainly to three practices (Visual, User Experience and Service Design) and are all over the planet :)

  • Leadership comes from different backgrounds (Service Design, Visual Design, Engeneering, Comunication, Psicology, Strategy, etc.). They are both academic and self tought. We give importance to communication skills and empathy in the leadership, so we want our leadership to be able to observe behavior and motivate action.

  • The vibe is the same than in the whole organization, it's relaxed and informal. We work 8 hours a day and it's not unusual to work from home or to stay together at the office to work together.

  • We are a big design family, we are convinced that the only way to be an amazing team is by working together; we are passionate about understanding business, clients and users to create a satisfying experience. The mentoring and training programs that we have built are key to improve ourselves as professionals as well as a team. We work around 8 hours a day.

  • Martin is brave and true. He will always face the reality and push you to go with the truth and not be ashamed or shy of true results. That is a virtue that allows us to act on facts and not perceptions. C level takes place in many parties during the year, but more parties never hurt anyone ;)
