The compant itself has treated me well. The pay, benefits, all great. However my recent general manager has caused severe problems. Working happily for the company for a year, I'm quitting because of the abuse he puts his staff through. Public humiliation, constant beratement and blatant favoritism.
What are some of the best things about your team?
My coworkers are all amazing, they get along well with one another and I genuinely enjoy working with any of them.
What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?
The regular staff members are all relatively close and talk, make jokes and get work done together quickly while doing so
What does the leadership team need to get better at?
The General Manager needs to learn how to motivate his staff. There is not a single person at my store who says they look forward to working with him. Nine times out of ten people are talking about how unsafe they feel in his presence.
What's going wrong and how can it be improved?
I think having outdated methods of running checkouts hinders, and sets up staff for failure. I understand the purpose of it all. But Hobby Lobby does not allow scanners to be used on the most basic of items. Most times departments aren't on the item, and cashiers typically don't know where it's from
