Igneous is very serious about its unlimited vacation policy. This isn't "unlimited" vacation as a tool to trick people to work more. At Igneous, I have never felt pressured in any way not to take as much vacation as I wanted, nor have I seen anyone penalized for taking too much vacation.

For engineering interviews, we pre-screen using a homework assignment that, while challenging for some, is free from artificial time constraints, and rather than being some contrived Introduction to Algorithms problem set question, solves a common real world problem.

The interview process at Igneous is special and unlike any other processes I was involved with. We offer a homework project as an early part of the interview process. Since you can work on it at home and take as much time as you need, you get a chance to show us what you can create w/o the pressure.
