When you have to choose between paying bills or eating, things are tough
It seamed good until you got your first paycheck, then you realized that you have to do major hours to survive.
Start by paying your employees a living wage. Next start a fund for driver tires. Then start giving regular raises. Then stop taking away manager bonuses when something vital breaks like the oven or heater or cold table.
It was a struggle paying for my car that broke down after I quit. I couldn't keep up with the maintenance because of low wages. I didn't find time to worry about the best things of my team. Thanks for the path to middle class, NOT.
Allowing the general manager to generally manage. Our area manager won't let the general manager higher/fire people, set schedules, or maintain the store. It seamed odd because their bonus is tied to the general upkeep of the store but they have no say in getting things fixed.
Having two different wages screwed me over when they started to tax tips at 30%. It made me lose over $100 from one paycheck to the other. I was using my paycheck to pay my bills and when I couldn't pay my car insurance, I had to go.
