Miserable. Every day people are spending their time trying to find out how to spend less time at work.

What's going wrong and how can it be improved?

An overhaul in management inferstructure.

What does the leadership team need to get better at?

There could be a ton of cuts in leadership before cuts in the work force.

What needs to change to make the company culture better?

It’s a work vs management environment everyday because of how workers are treated. Working for the southern tier was the worst where we were also treated with no positive rewards ever, and had greedy supervisors always just focused on their bonuses only.

What do your coworkers need to improve and how could you work together better?

The railroad is self sufficient for the most part. Especially with the older generation of people and anyone who was hired as it was conrail. When given a task, it will get done and be done safely. Having supervisors that reward positive actions instead of negative, would help.

Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?

The supervisory staff needs a complete overhaul. The way they always go about things is to continually find what someone did wrong, never looking at what people are doing right. Supervisors are in charge of people for a task that the supervisors have never done and do not completely understand.
