We have a “safe” railroad pension
My fellow union employees are very knowledgeable and can move freight safely and efficiently, which should be Norfolk Southern’s main priority.
We have too many supervisors. The problem is that to justify their own job, they find anything they can to discipline union employees.
Supervisor’s need to let employees do their jobs. Discipline doesn’t need to be a daily occurrence. Threats of layoffs are not good for the work environment.
Negativity is everywhere. It starts with supervision. It trickles down to the employees. Supervisors “score cards” that determine their bonuses are always a topic of supervisors. Too many supervisors. Micromanagement slows the movement of freight.
