My overall experience coming from working for Hines Property management group working Class A buildings managing teams of cleaning personnel, security groups and then seeing how a property manager is being treated at Public storage doing physical labor and not adequate compensation PS is garbage!
What's going wrong and how can it be improved?
Pay PAY and more pay Public storage is paying property managers less than any other storage competitor!
What does the leadership team need to get better at?
Value your employees more Managers are receiving way to much pay in relationship to Property Managers- property managers are doing MPV and doing physical labor and multiple job descriptions. Abandon goods bringing abandoned items to dumpsters items weighing over 20-50 pounds. Maintenance, IT, Clean
Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?
Compensation of other storage locations are at a minimum of $19/hr we are being compensated $14 thats a joke and a DM is receiving 100K or better while the average worker receives 30k this is ridiculous we carry the work load we sell the product and get nothing.
What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?
My manager is the only reason I have stayed this long she has given me the schedule i need to work 2 jobs and still have family time this is the only reason I am here but soon I will be leaving for a government job thanks to her
What do your coworkers need to improve and how could you work together better?
We all need better pay then the quality would go up as it stands no one cares so facilities look like crap and are not Class A well maintained. I am a real Class a PM working 2 jobs and this company is definitely not showing appreciation for the employees. I have to work 2 jobs because PS lacks
