What do you like best about the leadership team?
I like that RZF is a flat structure, and I like that the senior leaders in my department still actually contribute work in our discipline - don't wholly delegate everything out. Makes me feel like they are still aware of LOE, new trends, etc. Keeps us all grounded!

Communicative and transparent. Open about our values (even resigned a client to stay aligned to them). Hard working (even come to client pitches to help win new work).

I think they are very clear about what our goals are, though I do think that focusing so much energy on AI/Chat GPT and other tools might not necessarily be an approach I necessarily agree with. Maybe I will be proved wrong.

What does the leadership team need to get better at?
Keeping their word and hiring people. Many people have been lured in with the story of starting as a freelancer and being converted to full time in a few months. There is a hiring freeze in place and people are stuck in limbo. Do the right thing and bring these people on full time.

"Title harmonization" is literally the 'January 6th' of HR disasters. How does a mass title bump with no pay bump to literally 100% of the company benefit anybody? You are telling me that I have been operating above my title for how long? And you did not rectify with a promotion earlier?

What is the best part about your compensation package?
I like that there is a WFH stipend, but it really is very minimal considering its for a full year.

Both my base salary and bonus are a great deal lower than my last job but the bonus actually paid out at 100%. And as a creative an important part of the equation is the work and team and I love both.

Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?
The compensation is not competitive or on par for my industry

I am not sure if I get paid what others in my position earn, it would be nice to have transparency or more discussions about pay levels. Its not that I dont get paid enough, but am I paid what others make in my position.

I am underpaid and overworked.. Summer Fridays are an EMPTY PROMISE. No one expects them. Why even mention them if you will not let people take them. Senior Leadership is extremely tone deaf!

I feel based on conversations with friends I make a little bit under the regular pay outside, one of the reasons I don't go somewhere else is because I feel they care about me.

What are some of the best things about your team?
Everyone can independently get the work done without a lot of fluff or pomp and circumstance. I feel my voice and opinion is genuinely appreciated and regarded as a subject matter expert, even though I am still new to the company.

My time all works remotely from different cities so I've only met one of them in person but everyone is generally very respectful and makes sure to ask if you have the bandwidth for more work, and is understanding when personal issues happens that require days off.

There is no team culture.

Better Teams etiquette (or even better, switch to Slack or Discord), reduce emails and meeting time and learn to communicate more efficiently via messaging platforms

What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?
RZF really doesn't expect us to work more than we ought to. There's no pressure to go overtime, to work a higher level job in order to get promoted. It's generally a very healthy culture.

Activity, openness, support, hard work, interesting challenges, friendly and accepting among other things. I'm not sure I could retain my sanity working a corporate job that is slow and hyper structured to prevent innovation (while trumpeting it out of the other side of its mouth).

What's going wrong and how can it be improved?
Promote accordingly. Don't give everybody inflated titles. Pay accordingly, don't make people leave to get a competitive salary. Don't promise days off or summer fridays when you can't deliver on that promise.
