What do you wish you knew before starting at Regus?
The lack of management support in all areas
What are the differences between maternity and paternity leave at Regus?
None
What is Regus' internship program like?
there isn't one
How are the dental insurance options at Regus?
average
How are the vision insurance options at Regus?
average
Does Regus drug test or do a background check?
no
How does Regus make decisions around promotions?
You don't get promotions.
If you could make changes, how would you improve the culture at Regus?
Intense instruction about the benefits of valuing people, of volunteerism, of contributing to the community to those at the tip top of the hierarchy. They don't believe they need it, though.
Does Regus have any remote positions?
They have centers all over the world, but no remote (as in working from home) opportunity because the job entails greeting, seating, and serving. It's kind of like being a flight attendant or a hostess in a business setting.
How's the feedback process at Regus?
Very weird and inconsistent. Managers have not been trained, other than watching some videos, on how to manage people. They resort to using the same tactics used on them by their superiors which is similar to the way playground bullies operate. Sometimes an insignificant mistake will find you sitting in a room filled with managers who grill you and discuss your fate. Another time the same incident may rouse some playful banter. You never really know. It depends on the mood and what the P & L's look like that day.
What are you most excited about working at Regus?
My co-workers and the business owners I serve. I love them!
What part of Regus's business is growing fastest? What part is having difficulties?
Regus continues to acquire buildings, or centers as they call them, but they do not manage people or advertise well. In fact, they do not value people at all. They are expendable commodities just like the furniture in the offices they lease.
Who did you meet with during your interview? And how long did it take to hear back from Regus?
I met with the area manager and the community manager. I heard back in 4 days.
How innovative is Regus?
Internal communications would lead you to believe they are innovative. They tell you how innovative they are in every weekly newsletter. The truth is, their business model is a very antiquated vertical hierarchy. As an employee, you are expected to do what you're told and be grateful they pay you.
What interview questions does Regus ask?
Mainly customer service scenarios. That is really all they care about for a CSR. If you're oriented toward excellent customer service, they will train for everything else.
What's the company culture like at Regus?
Very open and welcoming at first appearance, but then you see the management tools most frequently used are condescension, threats, and bullying.
How much diversity is there among employees at Regus?
Not a lot.
