If you could make changes, how would you improve the culture at SmileDirectClub?
I would change nothing! I love culture!!
The culture is great actually. Everyone is super friendly and supportive, and there is always someone to listen to your ideas. The problem is that institutional change never happens because the direction of the company is completely determined by venture capitalists. We do whatever gets us funding.
I would put myself as a manager and be more hands-on in my smile shop

Helping to create Smiles!
Helping the customer understand sec and leave with confidence in our product

What's the office vibe like at SmileDirectClub?

It's a unique office space in downtown Nashville with a lot of energy and passion! We have a ton of spaces designated for collaboration and creative pieces on the walls to inspire creativity and a customer focused perspective.
FUN! Chill, relaxed, fun. As long as we get our responsibilities done, we have so much fun!

How's the vacation policy at SmileDirectClub?
Great I'm going on vacation for a week
2 weeks vacation, 1 week personal. Took away our ability to roll over more than 10 hours each year.

What part of SmileDirectClub's business is growing fastest? What part is having difficulties?
Locations! Growing physically weekly! Change is hard to keep up with and manage in almost anything. Struggles I would say are getting additional headcount to support our growing business.

Our team respects the work life balance of our team members. Schedules are different based on department, but we see our team members as people first, employees second.
so good that I am working from home completing this! Work from home options, schedule flexibility and trust. Our leaders trust that we do not ask for too much knowing that we wouldn't be able to handle it or start not delivering on our responsibilities.
i don’t feel like i have a good work life balance but others may feel different

What's the office layout like at SmileDirectClub?

We have an open work environment with clusters of desks where teams can sit together and collaborate. Our C-suite works in offices with see through doors to support our open door policies. We have lots of huddle areas for formal or informal meetings.
Modern but busy - just like SDC as a whole.
