Guenther Ottendorfer — Chief Operating Officer of Technology at Sprint

Mr. Gunther Ottendorfer has been the Chief Operating Officer of Technology at Sprint Corporation since August 2015. Mr. Ottendorfer was a Telecommunications Executive, with over twenty years of experience in a number of Europe's telecommunications companies, including Deutsche Telekom and max.mobil. He joined Optus in 2011. He served as the Chief Technical Officer and Members of the Management Board at Telekom Austria AG from September 1, 2013 to March 5, 2015. He served as Managing Director of Optus Networks at Optus Mobile Pty Ltd. He served as Managing Director of Optus Networks Pty Ltd. at SingTel Optus Pty Ltd. since April 2011. He was responsible for the day-to-day running of all Optus networks as well as further strategic investment in its IP, fixed and mobile network in the lead up to the launch of the National Broadband Network. In 1996, he became a founding member of mobile operator T-Mobile Austria GmbH. He served as an European Mobile Technical Director/Director of Information Technology at T-Mobile Austria GmbH, overseeing its mobile networks across continental Europe. At Optus he held responsibility for mobile, fixed, cable-TV and satellite network infrastructure and as such manages 2,000 employees. In addition, he spearheaded the introduction of LTE which Optus pioneered as one of the first providers globally and initiated several optimization and restructuring programmes. He began his telecommunication career at Siemens and served in the early GSM Software development and later served as the Bid Manager for the team acquiring Austria's first private GSM licence. He has held multiple roles including Chief Operating Officer and Chief Technology Officer of T-Mobile Austria GmbH, Technology Director for T-Mobile Germany and Manager of Network Operations and Core Network and T-Mobile's International Operation and Maintenance Division. He served as the Chief Technology Officer of T-Mobile Germany. He was European Technology Director at Group level for T-Mobile International. He is influential in the business community within the Chamber of Commerce of Austria as the Chairman for Australian Telecommunications and Broadcasting companies and as a Board Member for the Next Generation Mobile Organization. From 1987 to 1992, Mr. Ottendorfer studied IT at the Technical University of Vienna and was awarded a distinction upon completion of the degree.
