I wish I knew how conservative the corporate culture is. Budget cuts and for what, so the stock price can flatline?
How design is valued
How's the morale at Symantec?
Boring, uninspiring, confrontational at times. The teams are so soloed if you walk in another team's territory they look at your funny. Don't dare eat another team's unhealthy snacks!
The company is in constant flux. This is both exciting and unsettling.

What's the office layout like at Symantec?
Open office, cheap veneers, murals in bad taste, bad coffee, break rooms where a team can suddenly swarm and hold a meeting, oh did I mention the cafeteria could give you food poisoning?
Differs by location and department role. Up to date and well laid out, but some architectural considerations look better on paper.

I see virtually no leaders, just a bunch of people who want to grip tightly on their own silos and not cooperate fully with other teams. They have no idea how big of a problem there is with the culture.

The focus is pretty much on Enterprise and seems to ignore emerging markets and services. Relying on old ideas. Not enough emphasis on the consumer business which has been hemorrhaging market share due to very poor decisions.
Very confident. Good leadership is helping the company grow in revenue and profit margins through reductions and acquisitions.

Not a significant amount of "overtime." Pretty laid back mostly, many are happy to let the few work...
If you could make changes, how would you improve the culture at Symantec?
Allow remote work, break down the silos that exist between teams in the same org, make social events less awkward, plan better holiday parties than a trip to the bowling alley.
What do people at Symantec think about the CEO? What do they do well and what can they improve?
Greg Clark is probably the best CEO out of the 4 in the past few years. Greg is an Engineer who truly understands the industry, whereas the past few CEO were marketing guys.
How do you feel about going to work at Symantec everyday?
Frustrated I cannot work from home and possibly be more productive.
What's the vibe like in the Design dept at Symantec? How many hours are you working?
Work life balance is good. Where design fits in the decision making process is a little nebulous.
What's the Design team like at Symantec?
Not as cohesive as it could be

It depends on the group you work with. Some groups are better than others.
