Mr. Alex Rainert has been Head of Product & Design at The New York Times Company since September 2017. Mr. Rainert has been Vice President of Product at Nucleus since March 11, 2016. He served as the Head of Product at Foursquare Labs, Inc. Mr. Rainert has 12 years of product development experience and a multidisciplinary background, with a focus on mobile, social and emerging technologies. He founded dodgeball.com in 2000. Mr. Rainert worked at ECCO design, uniting the user interface with the physical design of a product, matching form to function. Prior to ECCO, he worked at Razorfish and R/GA as a Programmer, Information Architect and as an Interaction Designer. Mr. Rainert was responsible for both the technology as well as the interface of a project allows him to create solutions that address both the technical possibilities as well as the users' needs. Over the years, he has worked on various platforms including software, web, kiosk, wireless, iTV and broadband for clients including Verizon, IBM, HBO and 3COM. Mr. Rainert received his Master's Degree from NYU's Interactive Telecommunications Program where he focused primarily on the Intersection of Community, Mobile Applications and Technology.
