Executive Bio

Mr. Andy Wright has been Senior Vice President of Advertising and Publisher of The New York Times Magazine at New York Times Company since July 2014. Mr. Wright served as Vice President of Advertising Sales of New York Times Co. since May 2006. Mr. Wright became group director for advertising sales at The Times in 1999. As a group director, he has overseen a wide variety of advertising sales teams, including healthcare, packaged goods, cosmetics, media, education, advocacy, corporate, sports marketing and agency relations. Mr. Wright led a cross-functional team to develop a comprehensive new approach for the recruitment advertising business in 2001, which resulted in the successful creation of The New York Times Job Market online and in print. He is also responsible for The Times's classified advertising contact center and advertising telesales operations, where he has led significant change by introducing new training, technology and process improvement. Before coming to The Times in 1997, Mr. Wright held various sales and sales management positions at Children's Television Workshop and Child magazine, then part of The New York Times Company. Mr. Wright began his career in the media services group at McCann-Erickson Worldwide Advertising.
