Executive Bio

Ms. Ellen Shultz has been an Executive Vice President of Talent & Inclusion at The New York Times Company since June 27, 2016. Ms. Shultz assume leadership of the New York Times Company's global human resources team and all aspects of its operation. Ms. Shultz joined Media General in 2015 from Time Inc., where she served as Vice President of HR Operations and Systems. Ms. Shultz led all aspects of the HR operations function in addition to oversight of the International HR department and Labor Relations. She joined Time Inc. in 1999 as Manager for Staffing and Recruitment and held various other successively senior positions at the New York Times Company including HR director for Time Magazines in London from 2005-2010. She returned to New York as Executive Director of Human Resources before being promoted to Vice President in 2013. Ms. Shultz began her professional career in the retail sector before moving to human resources management and Talent Recruitment as a Researcher and Recruiter at The Barack Group in 1997.
