Extremely happy to work for TranscribeMe. I started two years ago, desperate, a first-time single mom straight out of college without a clue. I've managed to work on some amazing projects all while able to cover basic expenses and working up to decent pay.
What do you like best about the leadership team?
Always there to help. Always encouraging. Always opening doors to other teams and helping the team advance in the company.
What makes you most happy at work?
I get to work from home! And I love the subject matter we get to transcribe. I love the freedom and mobility.
What did you like most about the interview process?
I liked that we were able to take the company style guide and review it before our entrance exam. Also, I liked that we were able to retake the exam in a realistic amount of time.
What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?
Honestly, it's a learning environment. I feel like I'm back on Blackboard like in my college days. We are constantly learning about our material. A lot of times we end up having whole discussions about the material and grammar on Yammer. Love it.
What is the best part about your compensation package?
Ah, we are paid per audio hour and receive bonuses as incentives. We are always open to take more exams, opening up higher pay rates. Other than that, no benefits/sick pay/etc. Pretty true to working in a self-employment situation which is basically what this is.
What are some of the best things about your team?
The team leaders take the time to make it feel personal. They care about the quality of the work, but also care about treating us fairly. You get what you put into it. Coworkers are like any company, everyone is different. The team, as a whole though, seems to like learning and being helpful.
