VCA Environment Employee Reviews

What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?

The support staff and doctors are very supportive of each other

Clients, success at helping pets recover.

What we do - helping pets.

Review from Customer Support Dept

At my facility we get along with each other and work together as a team.

Review from Operations Dept

Coworkers want to laugh and be happy.

The culture at work is very welcoming and family oriented. Everyone knows we're all in it together and will help each other carry out tasks and running the hospital efficiently.

Review from Operations Dept

the dogs are better than the people

Every patient every time, best care for pets, VCA stands for alot with me. Its why i choose to stay with this company

Nothing, Maybe VCA tries to have a positive culture but it is not portrayed at the hospital I work at. VCA Gardenstate, NJ

Nothing. I mean vca might have a good culture. But it's not present at the hospital I work at. Mainly because of the hospital manager. She seems more concerned about her bouns while we can't even get a gift card on tech week. Or a holiday bonus of some kind. Vca gardenstate, nj

Review from Customer Success Dept

I honestly can't think of one positive thing to say. I think vca has a good program for culture and environment. It juat not followed at my hospital. VCA garden state, cherry hill NJ

My coworkers and the dogs are the best part of the job.

Teamwork is at the forefront

everyone is a helping hand for everything

The clients and their pets, love seeing clients smile and seeing their pets well and happy.

Review from Admin Dept

Coworkers are friendly and supportive

The facts that coworkers can get along

Everyone tries to be positive even though we all know we are on a sinking ship

Huge discount for employees and pets

Just the individual employees and doctors.

What needs to change to make the company culture better?

More trained and experienced leaders/managers that arent completely overwhelmed. Better communication from above.

Corporates too big now. Paying the big wigs and not the doctors and techs.

Different management skills or management having a different approach to conflict in the work place that does not justify others mistakes with forgetfulness

Stronger leadership and professionalism is going to help improve vca.

Upper management needs to be cleared out and start over with fresh people.

Teamwork and hard work from everyone

I would like to see a faster paced working enviroment. The salon manager does almost nothing but a few dogs a day and then sits and talks in the office for the rest. She also puts all the deep cleaning/ cleaning duties on everyone else and never lifts a finger to help. She is rude to most employees

Make sure management is consistent with what they want procedures to be in the hospital. Put hospital management teams through more rigorous diversity training so as to ensure that hostile work environments do not arise for employees of color/employees in the LGBTQ community. Make hr more accessable

management needs to consider supporting staffs needs into consideration

Everything no team work among each other

Our hospital manager taking care of her employees. She is very money hungry and will put a cursing angry client first than her team. She prioritizes clients that have cursed at us, called us explicit names, causes drama by dragging other employees in.

Review from Customer Success Dept

better pay, and some more staff to lessen the load.

All the supervisors are negative and unprofessional and talk about private confidential things about other employees in front of other employees everybody's in everybody's business and they don't care about their good people everybody is quitting

Management talks to people solves problems is willing to help

Hire a new manager and have conversations and consequences to those who do not follow the rules

Review from Customer Support Dept

The current structuring of management is a bit unweighted

Review from Admin Dept

maturity amongst managers , respect for employees

Review from Operations Dept

Better leadership among the executive team.

Review from Operations Dept

Management could have a better attitude & learn to stop belittling the very employees who keep the business afloat

Be more authentic and responsive to feedback from the doctors and staff. Allow for relationships to be developed. NOT so numbers focused
