What is the best part about your compensation package?
The per class rate and incentives are great compared to other teaching pay
What did you like most about the interview process?
I liked that a real teacher Mentor did my mock interview so I could ask questions about what an actual class is like before I started.
What are some of the best things about your team?
We don't really have teams since we're independent contractors, but teachers have established virtual communities as well as local meet ups that are great for sharing ideas and tips that are incredibly helpful.
What does the leadership team need to get better at?
I think engaging new teachers and being more easily accessible would be really helpful starting out, especially with so many established teachers and it often feels we compete with one another for bookings.
What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?
I love that I can set my own hours and work from home. I get to be a full time mommy and still contribute to my household finances, all while having engaging lessons with students from a completely different background than my own. It's an awesome experience in different cultures and learning.
What makes you most happy at work?
I love seeing the excitement my students have for learning. They are so excited to practice speaking to me and tell me about their day. It's also nice to have a one-on-one time with them so you can really get to know your regular students which is so hard in a formal class setting.
