The amount of work expected isn't unreasonable for the hours worked, but the pay should be higher considering the demographic of shoppers and the type of work.
The interviewer asked questions relevant to the position instead of those questions some employers ask about "where you see yourself in five years." That's not something people these days have the luxury of thinking about when working retail.
