We were a maturing start-up, then were acquired twice over 5 years. Things around us shifted and changed while the local team culture remained the same. Recently, I have grown weary of a lack of corporate vision or strategy. We're so focused on short-term gains at the expense of longer goals.

I have worked here for a long time. We used to do promotions and have career paths for advancement, but then we were acquired by NETSCOUT, and those things dried up. Now we have no future vision, a chaotic roadmap, and stagnation over the last few years.

Frankly, the corporate leadership team is uninspiring. However, my local leadership team understands how to connect people with our place in the larger organization and how our current work is making a difference.

We're always learning, always facing new challenges. I can go to anyone on my team and ask for help, and I'll never be judged. For the most part, we make decisions based on the merit of the idea and not the rank of the person making the proposal.

Anyone can contribute a great idea and if it is convincing, it will get picked up. You don't need to be the highest-paid person in the room to be heard. If something isn't going well, people are prepared to talk about it, and to consider ways that we could make things better.
