It's great in most ways except for fairly compensating long-term employees.

With high inflation, the 1% raise is not enough. Compensating us through the Area Wage Determination is not a fair compensation. FSA is aware of this, but DOJ does not budge on this standard. Guaranteed step increases based on merit would go a long way, similar to the federal GS scale.
